KEY SPECIFICATIONS
- Nanofilled Excellence Appa Flow is enriched with specially treated nanofillers to maximize polishability, wear resistance, and overall strength. These advanced nanofillers enhance the ease of extrusion, simplifying the application process.
- High Filler Loading Appa Flow boasts an exceptional filler loading level, ensuring outstanding wear resistance and durability. This high filler content guarantees the longevity of dental restorations in a variety of applications.
- Fluoride Release Appa Flow harnesses the cariostatic benefits of fluoride to support remineralization and inhibit enamel demineralization. In aqueous environments, fluoride ions are released from Appa Flow into the surrounding tooth, facilitated by the natural flow of oral fluids. This ionic movement contributes to improved oral health and cavity prevention.
- Natural Fluorescence Appa Flow contains a fluorescent agent that recreates the natural appearance of teeth, particularly when exposed to ultraviolet lights. This feature ensures that dental restorations blend seamlessly with the patient's natural dentition.
- Radiopacity Appa Flow is radiopaque, making it easily visible on X-rays. This radiopacity aids in the straightforward identification of secondary caries and other dental concerns at the restoration interface, facilitating timely diagnosis and treatment.
- Impressive Compressive Strength Appa Flow exhibits remarkable compressive strength, making it a versatile choice for a wide range of dental applications. This strength ensures the reliability and longevity of dental restorations, instilling confidence in the quality of your dental work.
DIRECTIONS OF USE
Before applying Appa Flow, follow these guidelines to ensure optimal results and patient satisfaction:
Cavity Preparation
- Begin by cleaning and isolating the tooth. Prepare a conservative cavity using standard techniques and instruments to achieve a slightly rounded internal form.
- Ensure that the cavity margins end in sound and supported enamel, avoiding bevels in stress-bearing locations. If beveling is necessary in low-stress areas, limit it to no more than 1mm at an angle not exceeding 45°.
- Pre-wedge the tooth to ensure a proper contact point with the restored tooth.
- Prophy all surfaces to be etched, including those adjacent to the cavity, using an oil-free non-fluoride containing paste or a pumice and water slurry. Rinse thoroughly with water.
Shade Selection
- Choose the appropriate shade for Appa Flow on a cleaned and moist tooth. Note that uncured paste may exhibit a slight color change upon curing.
Isolation
- Employ effective isolation techniques to prevent contamination. The use of a rubber dam is recommended for optimum isolation.
Pulp Protection
- In cases of deep cavities, apply a calcium hydroxide liner and an appropriate glass ionomer cement liner to protect deep cavity preparations in proximity to the pulp.
Application Steps
- Acid Etching
- Thoroughly dry the surface to be etched with dry, oil-free air.
- For enamel-only etching, etch the surface for a minimum of 20 seconds.
- For dentin and enamel, employ the "total etch" technique and etch the surface, including any glass ionomer, for at least 20 seconds. Enamel exposed to fluoridation should be etched for 90 to 120 seconds.
- Take precautions to avoid acid contact with oral tissues, eyes, and skin. In case of accidental contact, rinse thoroughly with water. In the event of eye contact, wash the affected eye for 15 minutes and seek medical attention.
- Use matrix strips to shield adjacent tooth surfaces during the etching process.
- Before use, or after extended storage, extrude a small amount onto a mixing pad to become familiar with the etchant's viscosity and rate of extrusion.
- Wash Thoroughly with Water
- Remove Excess Water
- Keep the surface moist and prevent contamination, such as saliva.
- Apply Stae Dentin/Enamel Adhesive
- Saturate all internal surfaces with the adhesive or bonding agent following the manufacturer's instructions.
- Gentle Air Blowing
- Use dry, oil-free air to gently blow the surface for 2 seconds, allowing the solvent to evaporate and leaving a glossy surface.
- Light Curing
- Use a high-power LED curing light with a wavelength of 460-480nm to light cure for 20 seconds.
- Appa Flow Injection
- Directly inject Appa Flow in increments of 2mm or less as needed for various indications, such as Class V restorations, tunnel preparations, pit and fissure sealants, and minimal Class I, Class II, Class III, and Class IV restorations.
- Ensure that the dispensing tip is securely attached to the syringe by twisting the tip hub onto the syringe.
