DIRECTONS OF USE
Bonding Procedure:
- Cavity Preparation:
- Begin by preparing the tooth using standard dental techniques. Ensure thorough removal of any temporary materials from the tooth surface.
- For added protection, use a rubber dam during the procedure.
- Rinse and dry the prepared tooth surfaces by gently blowing with an air syringe.
- Treatment of Tooth Surfaces:
- Select one of the following technique options based on the clinical scenario:
a) Self-Etch Technique:
- Apply Appa Bond 7 to cut and bur-cut enamel and dentin without a separate etching step. Note that non bur-cut enamel should always be treated with a 35-40% phosphoric acid gel for 10 seconds, rinsed with water for 5 seconds, and gently dried.
b) Selective Etching of Enamel:
- Before applying Appa Bond 7 to enamel and dentin, etch enamel only with 35-40% phosphoric acid gel for 10-15 seconds, rinse for 5 seconds, and gently dry.
c) Total-Etch Technique:
- Prior to applying Appa Bond 7 to enamel and dentin, etch both enamel and dentin with 35-40% phosphoric acid gel for 10-15 seconds, rinse for 5 seconds, and gently dry.
- Application of Appa Bond 7:
- Choose the applicable bottle or syringe type:
- Bottle Type: Before dispensing, shake the bottle of Appa Bond 7 thoroughly. Dispense a few drops into a clean dispensing dish and promptly replace the bottle cap.
- Syringe Type: Dispense the bonding agent onto the applicator tip using the disposable applicator provided.
- Immediately apply Appa Bond 7 to all repaired surfaces using the disposable applicator.
- Allow the bonding agent to remain undisturbed for 10 seconds after application. Appa Bond 7 can provide sufficient bonding strength even when dried immediately after application without waiting time.
- Dry thoroughly for 5 seconds with oil-free air under MAXIMUM air pressure. Utilize vacuum suction to prevent adhesive splatter. The final result should be a thin adhesive film with a glossy surface that does not visibly move under further air pressure.
- Light Curing:
- Light cure the applied Appa Bond 7 using a visible light curing unit for 20 seconds.
- Placement of Light-Cured Composites/Compomers:
- After light curing the adhesive, follow the manufacturer’s instructions for use to place, contour, and light-cure the composite resin material of your choice.
- Finishing:
- Complete the restoration by adjusting, finishing, and polishing using standard dental techniques.
Treatment of Hypersensitive Teeth and Immediate Dentin Sealing:
(I) Application of Appa Bond 7:
- Follow the same steps outlined in the Bonding Procedure (1. BONDING PROCEDURE), Treatment of Tooth Surfaces (2. TREATMENT OF TOOTH SURFACES), and Application of Appa Bond 7 (3. APPLICATION OF RENEW UNIVERSAL).
- Wait for 10 seconds before drying. Note that for the treatment of hypersensitive teeth, the self-etch technique is recommended.
(II) Light Curing:
- Refer to Light Curing (4. LIGHT-CURING).
(III) Removal of Unpolymerized Layer:
- Carefully remove the unpolymerized layer of Appa Bond 7 using a moist cotton pellet to ensure a smooth and polished result.
