Appa Etch is a blue-tinted etching gel or liquid formulated with 37% phosphoric acid, designed for conditioning tooth enamel and dentine surfaces. This crucial preparatory step enhances the bond strength between dental materials such as composites, sealants, and adhesives, ensuring effective and reliable bonding in dental procedures.
Key Features of Appa Etch
-
Precise Etching with 37% Phosphoric Acid:
- Formulated with 37% phosphoric acid, Appa Etch delivers efficient and controlled etching of enamel and dentine, allowing for selective and consistent application.
-
Blue-Tinted for Visibility:
- The blue-tinted appearance of the gel/liquid enhances visibility during application, providing clear control over the etching area, preventing over-etching or unnecessary contact with surrounding tissues.
-
Viscous Consistency:
- The gel’s viscous consistency ensures precise application without running or dripping, allowing for controlled placement on the tooth surface for a clean etching process.
-
Micro-Mechanical Retention:
- Appa Etch promotes micro-mechanical retention, enhancing the bond between the tooth structure and restorative materials. This is essential for achieving strong and durable adhesive restorations.

Directions for Use:
- Preparation:
- Thoroughly clean the area to be etched, then rinse and dry the tooth surface.
- Application:
- Place the tip of the etching gel or liquid against the surface to be etched. Slowly dispense a fine line or paint a thin layer of Appa Etch onto the selected area. Ensure the gel is applied with precision to prevent unwanted etching of surrounding areas.
- Etching Time:
- Allow the gel to remain on the surface for 10 to 15 seconds.
- Rinsing:
- After the etching time has elapsed, rinse the tooth surface thoroughly with a water spray to remove the etching gel completely.
- Drying:
- Dry the etched tooth surface using clean, dry air, preparing it for bonding.
Storage:
- Store in a cool, dry place, between 5°C to 30°C.
- Do not freeze and keep the product away from direct sunlight.
